SecretHollow.

This was by far one of my favorite gifts to make! It is called a secret hollow. So not only did the recipients get a discreet hiding place, I also filled it with mock "secrets" like fake handguns and cigars.  There is an easy way to make these and there is a difficult but more precise way to make these. All you need is some glue, water, a book (the thicker the better), a razor blade (or a ban saw).  I made one with the razor blade my Dad caught me and cut the rest on the ban saw. It cut the time by about 2hrs... Here is the tutorial I used.

Beading.

This was a Christmas gift. I know it is a little late but isn't there something like "Christmas in July"?? I don't know.  My MIL is good at everything she does and she does so many things! I am lucky to live by her now and be able to work on crafts and presents with her!  I really need to make more of my own jewelry, maybe then I would wear more and be more stylish? HAHA!

Teriyaki.

New food! This was a healthier non-sugary version of a family favorite. I think it was a hit! It took forever to make though, considering I know the old recipe by heart.  We are trying new cuisine over here at my parents though. We even tried a yummy Hawiian chicken sandwich yesterday but it smelled so yummy that I forgot to take pictures before digging in!

Sewing.

I am the type of person that appreciates a gift. It means someone was thinking about me.  I am usually not that good at gift giving. I usually have a difficult time deciding what to get.  This year I was going change that.  I had gift ideas for most people ahead of schedule. The delivery however was a little behind :) small steps right?  I truly am trying to be a good gift giver.  When I thought about the gifts I would give this year, I thought about some gifts that I have been given that I really loved. Some of them were handmade some of them weren't.  This year my focus is on handmade gifts.  Here are the color schemes of the same gift done 3 different ways.  Finished pictures are in the works, but enjoy the fabrics while you wait.

I made some pretty unique birthday gifts this year. Were they time intensive? Yes. Did they turn out? Yes. What it worth it? Absolutely!

Houndstooth.

Houndstooth is a classic pattern. I know I am exaggerating but it seems as though everything I buy lately is houndstooth. There is just something about it that I love. The best part is that it now comes in a variety of different ways, paper, shoes, fabric, clothes. I can't escape it and too tell you the truth, I'm not sure I want to!
